The Kiss

Los Altos Hills 1969

In the Los Altos hills I was shooting a session with some medical students from Stanford and the Sexual Freedom League illustrating a Ken Kesey project. The basic premises was that the doctors spend all their time at school and in hospitals and are not exposed to real life in the real world. Kesey felt that they were losing their sensitivity. While wandering around, I came across this scene in a field of wild mustard flowers. This teenage couple seems to express the free love attitudes of the flower children from the Counter Culture of the 1960s.
